In short, how it works

What you need

Setup (one time)

  1. Install VatsimNotif on your PC
Download the installer from the website, run it, and allow Windows Firewall on your private network if prompted. Keep the app running (icon near the clock) while you fly. The vPilot plugin installs automatically on first launch (close vPilot if it is open). Otherwise: right-click the tray icon → Install vPilot plugin.
  2. Install the app on your phone
Get VatsimNotif from the Play Store and allow notifications when asked.

Link your phone to the PC

The app walks you through this on first launch. You can also open Connection anytime.

Recommended: QR code
On the PC: right-click the VatsimNotif icon → Pair phone (QR code).
On your phone: tap Scan QR code. No IP address to type.

If the QR code does not work:

When everything is OK, the home screen shows Connected to your PC.

Remember: PC on, VatsimNotif running, vPilot open, same Wi‑Fi as your phone. Otherwise you will not get alerts.

What you will receive

Alerts usually arrive within a few seconds while the phone stays connected to the PC.
